Volume 001: What This Is

This is for the golfers who aren’t on tour.

The ones without swing coaches or custom fittings. The ones replaying their last round in their heads while they’re supposed to be working. The ones who hit one perfect 7-iron and spend the next three days chasing that feeling.

If that sounds like you, you’re already part of the pack.

Welcome to The Weekly Hound—a running story about golf as it’s really lived. Not just wins and highlights, but the in-between: early tee times, missed birdie putts, loyal dogs, late-night swing thoughts. All of it.

We’re kicking things off with where it all started: why this brand exists.

Golf, the Deep End

I started playing a couple years ago. No lessons, no expectations—just me and a borrowed set of clubs. And like a lot of people who fall for this game, I went all in fast.

I’ve had flashes of brilliance—like the time I dunked a wedge from 70 yards. No bounce. Just straight in the cup.

And I’ve had rounds that felt like punishment. I still haven’t broken 100 without double-parring a hole. But I show up anyway. Because even when it’s hard, it’s worth it. Even when it’s humbling, it’s honest.

That’s golf.

Where Hole Hounds Came From

Hole Hounds came to life during that obsession phase.

I was working remotely, watching my sister’s dog during the day, and designing polos in my head between meetings. I was living in the middle of the game—thinking about gear, feel, identity. And I wasn’t seeing a golf brand that felt like my experience.

I wanted something rooted in golf, but not stuck in the past. Clean. Confident. Built for the ones grinding it out at the local track, not the tour van.

So I made it.

What This Blog Is

Every week, we’ll feature a golfer and their dog—or their mindset. Some are well-known names. Others are the kind of golfers you meet in the parking lot before a 7:30 a.m. tee time.

The goal is simple: tell stories that feel like the game we love. No fluff. No fake perfection. Just real people who are hooked on this thing for all the right reasons.

Thanks for being here. This is just the beginning.
